Onions are cheaper at Bennett's Store

You can find a bit of everything at Bennett's - ice, petrol, newspapers, cat food, milk, smokes, and even hot lamb rolls. The average onion will cost you about 10 cents, which is about 1/4 of what you'd pay at BiLo.

Bennett's is across the road from the Garden of Eden Caravan Park, and the only shop within easy walking distance of the southern end of town. The friendly owners are Ian and Betty Spencer, who have run the shop for 25 years and who have been married to each other for over 50. Ian says he is proud of that, not too many people stay married that long.

Sadly, Betty passed away unexpectedly last week. My heart goes out to Ian.
