Meet Clare, the proud manager of Eden Access Centre. The map behind her, crowded with pins, represents the home towns of many of the tourists who have passed through Eden and stopped at the Access Centre to use the internet services.
Facilities provided by the Access Centre include an internet cafe, phone and fax, and even a state-of-the-art video conferencing facility. The centre processes Medicare and Centrelink (social security) paperwork and hosts computer training sessions.
Though small, the centre is an important facility for locals and tourists alike. It is staffed by volunteers.
